Christmas music or Christmas songs is a genre which is normally
performed during the time period leading up to, and sometimes shortly
past, Christmas. Christmas songs frequently are the focus of holiday
themes directly taken from Christmas, but occasionally they have no
content addressing the holiday, and instead focus on wintry themes.
These songs recognizably fall into several different groupings, depending
on both the time and melody of the songs.
Songs which are traditional,
even some without a specific religious context, are often called
Christmas carols. Some songs of more recent vintage, often introduced
in films, are specifically about Christmas, but are typically not overtly
religious and therefore do not qualify as Christmas carols.
The archetypal example is 1942’s White Christmas, although many
other holiday songs have become perennial favourites, such as
Gene Autry’s Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.
Christmas songs have come a long way and at the same time have
endured, think about whatever comes to mind when someone says the two simple words, Christmas songs. If you grew up where it snows in
December, you likely recall besides caroling in hay trucks, listening to
carolers songs with lyrics about chestnuts roasting on an open fire and
sleigh bells and one of the dreams of the great late Bing Crosby,
that of a white Christmas.
The Christmas season is a festive and joyful time of the year when people
come together and families gather to celebrate and enjoy the company of
each other. We gather together to have fun, and to share in the festive
spirit. Singing is an extremely popular way of expressing the joy we feel.
So when we gather with friends and relatives, we all deserve a good
laugh by singing along to some funny Christmas songs.

a list of the 25 Most Popular Holiday Songs.
The old favorites The Christmas Song, White Christmas, are always on
the list, but songs enter or leave the list based on the popularity of recent
covers of the song.
