South Park is a video game based on the popular TV series of the
same name. Released in 1998 by Acclaim for the PC, Nintendo 64 and
Sony PlayStation, it is a First Person Shooter or FPS, based on the first
few seasons of the show. It is powered by the Turok 2 game engine.
Today brings us to some rather exciting news for the South Park
Gaming community as we are surprisingly presented with the
announcement of and upcoming game. That's right, another game.
And what better time than in the middle of SPG's dry season. AND
who better to bring forth a game in our hour of need. Why, it is non
other than community staff member Beamer.
South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker have just signed on
to write, direct and edit new episodes of the Emmy award winning
cartoon for the next three years. The pair behind Comedy Central's
highest rated show since 1997 just inked a lucrative deal reportedly
worth $75 million with Comedy Central's parent company, Viacom.
The agreement also includes a landmark joint venture to form South
Park Digital Studios, which will be responsible for the development of
various forms of South Park digital content.
South Park is still going strong, and judging by reactions to the latest
series, hasn't lost the power to ruffle feathers. Now RealArcade has
signed a deal to launch a new South Park mobile game, called South
Park 10 The Game.
The game includes a whopping 40 levels based on
storylines from the show's most popular episodes, while promising
platform and puzzle elements.
South Park pulls no punches, and creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone
portrayed those who play World of Warcraft as fat, disgusting, losers
with no discernible lives or ambitions. The plot: a renegade Warcraft
character, who has become far more powerful than the other players,
begins breaking the rules of combat and starts killing everyone in sight.
Stan Kyle, Cartman and Kenny decide to dedicate seven weeks to
make their characters powerful enough to take the renegade on.
